Pool Renovation Timeline and options
We are excited to announce that thanks to the help of the Switzerland County Community Foundation and the Vevay Switzerland County Foundation, the Switzerland County YMCA will be doing a major pool renovation project.
Beginning on September 20, 2020 the pool will be shut down and will plan to reopen on or before October 30th. During this closure we will be:
Draining the pool
Repairing the gutters
Painting the pool
Replacing and upgrading the filtration system
Replacing the air handling system for the aquatic area.
While our pool is closed we have reached out to four of our neighboring Y’s to help assist you in your aquatic needs. Each Y has its own set of rules that you will need to follow.
All four Y’s will accept our paying members through the Nationwide Membership program. If you have Silver Sneakers, Silver and Fit or Renew Active program memberships you will not show up as eligible in the Nationwide System. You will need to register the first time you attend the other Y and set up your access with them through those programs. Each of the Y’s with the exception of Oldham County accepts all three programs. You will need to call ahead to register for your class or lane.
The Y’s nearest to us are:

If you have any question about how to use another Y, please feel free to give a call at 812.427.9622. We can help get you connected.
Beginning July 27th the State of Indiana has issued a wear a mask order. When you come in to the Y we ask that you wear a mask in the common areas of the building. Mask are not required when working out. Please maintain social distancing while you are in the exercise areas. We will be accepting visitors starting September 8th. All visitors must complete the New Waiver 2020 to access the Y. We are all in this together and we will continue doing our part to fight COVID-19.

The Y is a powerful association of men, women, and children of all ages from all walks of life joined together by a shared passion: to strength the foundations of our community. At the Switzerland County YMCA, we seek to be a positive change in our community. Our Y focuses on three areas: youth development - nurturing the potential of every child and teen, healthy living - improving the nation's health and well being, and social responsibility - giving back and providing support to our neighbors to help positive changes occur in our community. Together with people like you, we nurture the potential of kids, help people understand and improve their health, and provide opportunities to give back and support neighbors. So join our cause, and create meaningful change not just for you, but also for your community.
